We list some of the best places to stay with your bike. You can combine a stay with some MTB skills instruction or a guided ride, do your own thing with one of our recommended routes (coming soon) and always stop off at one or more of the incredible cycling friendly tea rooms and cafes along the way.
Our area is a paradise for mountain bikers with the world class trails at Dalby Forest from green family routes to the super technical UCI XC World Cup black route. On the North York Moors there are miles and miles of twisting single track through the heather, disused railway routes, kliller climbs and technical descents that are definitely not for the faint hearted!
If road cycling is your thing (or you swing both ways!), we have hundreds of miles of quiet rural and moorland roads from the undulating Howardian Hills to the vast open skies of the North York Moors with some stinging hills and epic routes from the heart of the moors out to the east coast. There's even the brand new North York Moors Cycleway offering a figure of eight road route of almost 300km which you can choose to ride over two to eight days (or even one day if you're up to the challenge!!).
We tend not to run 'open' bookings where strangers stay with other riders (often wth differing abilities) as we feel to get the best out of your riding it should be with friends, family, colleagues or even focussed on just you! We can't possibly list all the options here so there are a few examples below. We can do any permutation of number of nights and number of days so why not pick up the phone for a chat about how we can put together just what you're looking for.
A two night stay with two days of skills instruction and/or guided rides is typically £229pp for two, £189pp for four or £159pp for 6.
Extra nights and or extra days can be added at reduced rates, just ask for a quote. Every booking is specific for you or your group so the days are yours and you wont be put with other riders
If 'im or 'er indoors is tired of your weekends away, why not grab some brownie points and bring your other half along for a relaxing break. We often have couples to stay where one half rides and the other goes off exploring. We're only 4 minutes walk from Pickering town centre where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and of course the renowned North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway for trips up onto the Moors and across to picturesque Whitby on the East Coast. You can even have a meal on one of the evening dining services. For days off the bike there are loads of other activities or attractions with the East Coast and the beautiful city of York is only 30 minutes away.
Whether you're looking for high quality bunk accommodation, self catering cottages or something with a few more luxuries thrown in, we can help you find somewhere that suits your needs.
As lifelong cyclists we know what you need for an enjoyable and memorable cycling stay. Facilities offered by local cycling friendly businesses include secure lock up, tools and workstands and bike wash facilities. We can even advise on the best places to buy parts or get your bikes fixed in an emergency.
You can stay in remote locations with trails on your doorstep or base yourself in one of our bustling market towns offering a great choice of places to eat and drink on an evening.
It's our comfy, cosy, home from home, cyclist friendly B&B in the lovely market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire. Find out more here.
